“Forgotten Foundation uh The Ole West”
Created in honor of the often overlooked legacy of Black cowboys as the true backbone of American Western culture. With strength, resilience, and undeniable skill, they herded cattle, broke wild horses, and shaped frontier life as we have seen it historically. Despite erasure from mainstream narratives, one in four cowboys were Black. Navigating freedom and racism in equal measure at that. This piece blends realism with symbolism, depicting riders in motion beneath a burning sunset, embodying both struggle and pride. Their presence reclaims the West, not as myth, but lived history. This is a tribute to forgotten pioneers who defined the spirit of the American frontier.
